LSJ Tax: The first full agentic organisation in tax advisory

10 departments automated. Two peak seasons run with the system. Lewis leaves the office at 5.

LSJ Tax handles tax relocation and accounting for clients across the UK, Hong Kong, and the US. Lewis runs the firm. Before the system, he was drowning in workflow admin, staff were burning 15-20 hours a week chasing client documents, and every HMRC or IRS notice meant hours of manual work. He didn't need more people. He needed an operating system that could run the firm end to end.

The problem

Lewis was the bottleneck for the entire firm. Every job, every notice, every client document had to pass through him.

Lewis was routing every single job manually

A new client comes in wanting UK to Dubai relocation. Another needs US expat filing. Another needs Hong Kong compliance. Lewis was the one deciding who handled what, across three tax jurisdictions. Every job, every week, routed by hand. That's a quarter of his working week spent on admin instead of actually doing the high-value advisory work clients pay for.

15-20 hours a week just chasing clients for documents

Tax work doesn't start until the documents arrive. During UK self-assessment season and US filing season, hundreds of clients needed to send P60s, K-1s, HK IRD forms, and everything in between. Staff were emailing, calling, logging responses, and flagging who hadn't replied. Pure admin with zero billable value, burning 15-20 hours a week across the team.

HMRC and IRS notices eating thousands of hours a year

Every notice, across every jurisdiction, meant someone had to read it, figure out what it actually meant, pull the right client records, and draft a response. Thousands of these a year across UK, US, and HK clients. Every single one followed a predictable pattern. Every single one was still being handled manually from scratch.

What we built

A full agentic organisation. 10 department agents, connected skills, running the operational backbone of LSJ Tax end to end.

01

10 department agents covering the entire firm

Sales, onboarding, compliance, bookkeeping, tax prep, advisory, client communications, billing, HR, and admin. Each one is its own agent with its own skills. They talk to each other. When sales closes a new client, onboarding picks it up automatically. When bookkeeping flags something unusual, advisory gets the context. No manual handoffs.

02

Jobs route themselves

A new client books in for US expat filing. The system classifies the job, identifies it as a US-focused engagement, checks capacity across the team, assigns it to the right person, and sets deadlines based on filing dates. Lewis reviews exceptions. He doesn't route every job by hand anymore.

03

Clients chase themselves

The system knows exactly which documents each client needs to submit for their specific jurisdiction. It sends the requests, tracks responses, escalates the slow ones, and logs everything. 15-20 hours a week of staff time evaporated overnight. The documents just arrive.

04

HMRC and IRS notices handled in minutes

A notice comes in. The system reads it, identifies the notice type, pulls the relevant client records across the right jurisdiction, and drafts a response using Lewis's standard procedures. Lewis reviews and approves. What used to take hours per notice now takes minutes.

05

Two peak seasons run with the system live

UK self-assessment (January) and US filing season (April) are the two moments that break tax firms. LSJ Tax ran both with the system in place. No burnout, no last-minute hiring, no scrambling. The agents handled the volume the way a team of five would have.

"We didn't think it was possible to go live in a week. We'd been quoted six months by two other vendors. The system's been running for months now and it hasn't missed a beat. I actually leave the office at 5 o'clock these days."
